Curious: what exactly did they "Unite" to get "Toyota United?"

Well, last year they were riding United Bicycles that were made by Easton for the most part. This year they are riding Fuji. I'm guessing that the name didn't change for branding, marketing, cost to replace, and incorporation paperwork issues. I'll ask Shawn the team owner when when we see him at Stage 1 to get the low down.

That is really cool. I think it's probably age appropriate for the 7-12 age group, but there is good info for everyone. I may take this to my son's school tonight and let them see it at back to school night.

I did find it humorous that the "things to see" section for each stage included the nearest Build-A-Bear Workshop. St. Louis Zoo, City Museum, Science Center, Build-A-Bear.....I guess you have to pimp your sponsors anyway you can ;)

FYI (is Pink slow on the draw again?)
On Thursday at 11:00 am there is to be a radio program on NPR (89.3 FM) about amateur and professional biking in Kansas City. Will be able to listen to the show after about 1:00pm at KCUR web site under the show Up-To-Date

He sounded almost respectable...

I'm really excited about the work that Deb Ridgway is doing to make us not the 50th worst city (out of 50) for cycling/commuting. The future looks bright.

I assume you're referring to Bob, because we know you can't be talking about the Harsh unit.

Harsh, when I run the tape of your segment back at a slower speed, it sounds like, at one point, the interviewer is saying to you: "Hey, don't touch me there, unless you mean it."

One of the Team Discovery team trucks is sitting up at the corner of NW 112th and Ambassador............Very cool to see them right in my neighborhood. There was a ramp on the back of it like maybe they had rolled some bikes out. Could it be the team is riding up here someplace? I may need to go for a cruise! I am getting PUMPED about this race!

Reservations are in place! Man, I'm excited.

Tuesday: volunteer for the Kansas City stage -- but I'll be at the finish line in time for the bunch sprint, and to see Bob Roll stumble down the steps of the portable soundstage. :-)

Wednesday: come back to work, because four whole days off would make the man nervous. After work, head to Pomme de Terre Lake to stay the night with my parents.

Thursday: On to Branson to see the time trial. Probably start watching at the start line, then head over to the finish line sometime during the middle of the stage. After, either camp nearby if the mood strikes or head back to my parents' house.

Friday: Head to Lebanon to see the start, then sprint to somewhere like Montreal, MO to watch "the package" go by. Then, head to LOSP to ride, fish, camp out, and homeschool my son, who's missing two days of school to watch a professional bike race.

Saturday: Head to Jeff City to see the start. Then, sprint to Hermann to watch "the package" go by. Then, head to St. Charles to see the finish. Hang out in St. Charles for a bit, then down to Klondike Park (near Augusta, MO) to ride and camp.

Sunday: Awaken, ride some more, thank God for everything, then into St. Louis to watch the final stage. After the podiums, head down I-70 for home.

Yee haw... it's going to be a great week.

If anyone has any ideas for a good roadside costume, I'm all ears.
