Leawood MTB trails

Postby JDubKC » Tue Apr 17, 2018 12:18 pm

I've seen a video of Leawood Park MTB trails? Looks like easy single track that would be fun for my 7 yo. Does anyone know where the best place to park is for these trails?

Park at the big pool/aquatic center. Ride across the street (south) and get on the bike trail continuing south over the bridge across the creek. Trailhead just after bridge on your left.

Trails are pretty flowy and not very technical. How does your 7yo do w hills? There are some kinda steep, punchy climbs that are hard for my 5 and 6 yo on single speed, coaster brake bikes. Definitely worth a try though!

Here's a map:

There's a little over a mile of trail.

For super flat stuff, out west of the water treatment plant (which is just west of the above mapped trails) is where my kids started out. Straight up flat, with some twisty stuff for fun. A couple stick obstacles, but stop & walk if they're not ready for those.
