Rain Gauge

Postby ralfonso » Fri Aug 11, 2006 12:40 am

This is the closest one I've found.

It's just west of Landahl

It's wet folks, the rain guage had a glitch but is now back up and running.
Shows 1/2 an inch. Should be good by wednesday ifn we get sun and wind.

Is the rain gauge broken? It's been at .45" for quite a few days now.

Can anyone verify that this is accurate and the Landahl area received .03 inch of rain? I suspect it was more.

That sounds about right for the first wave that moved through around 5am this morning. According to this .03 looks about right. Still enough to make it iffy until later today or tomorrow.

Monday morning June 8th, we got .40 inches of rain two blocks South of Argo entrance. I noticed the Independence rain gauge on the link shows .24. I figured since I live so close I might as well get a large and accurate rain gauge.

This site rain gauge has been unreliable. It is no longer my 1st choice.

The rain gauge here has been more dependable. My 1st choice.

The old Indep Airport is close enough for most rain events. Some of the storms like we had Sunday night are small and real hit and miss. That is a cool site though!

They were fine tonight (Sunday) , will be better tomorrow. If you can wait until afternoon they will be near perfect. The fog is going to leave the rocks and roots slippery in the morning.
