Equestrians and Quads

Postby waffleBeast » Sun Mar 15, 2015 6:41 pm

I assume you guys have seen it, but the equestrians and quads have turned the wagon loop into a post holed double track over the last few weeks. No longer resembles the swoopy singletrack it was last fall.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. I was told that it has been bad like this in years past (wasn't last year, that I recall), and it'll eventually get beaten down, and/or require a lot of work to fix it up. Huge bummer for sure.

Nothing they can do about horses but call a park ranger every time you see a quad or motorcycle. They are normally drive time from Longview Lake. Get a really good deception and direction of travel. Everyone should add this number in there phone. Park Rangers (816) 503-4890

With the amount of damage that's on the wagon loop, would it hurt or would it actually help to ride a fat bike on it once it's started to firm up?

I'm going to try and post phases of "open" after this round of rain. Let people know its open a little early so the dirt is still a little soft and will flatten out a little faster. Hikers and fat bikes first, then skinny bikes, then horses when its completely dry.

going to hit up BURP tonight, because I can finally get out. Heard wagonwheel is closed, but how about the river trail? I wanted to checkout the new stuff north of redbridge, but don't want to ride a road to get there.

River is good. All trails are good except for wagon.

Based on how muddy BoHoCa was, I'd hate to see wagon wheel.
